Terms of Use

Version 2026-09-05 · Effective from 5 September 2026

In short

Skidbee is a free service that collects places, events and ideas for families with children in one place. Using it requires no account.

If you submit a place or an event, you are responsible for having the right to provide the information and materials and for them being publishable on Skidbee. Every submission is reviewed before publication.

When you use the service, you must follow these terms. When you submit a place or an event through the /ilmoita form, you accept the Terms of Use separately before submitting.

Scope of these terms

These terms apply to the use of the Skidbee service at skidbee.fi and its subpages, including the forms for submitting places and events.

The service is operated by Emil Auranen. Contact: info@skidbee.fi.

What the service is

Skidbee presents information about places and events suitable for families with children. The information comes from open data sources, our own editorial work and user submissions.

  • The service is free and requires no sign-in.
  • The service does not sell tickets or handle bookings.
  • The content, scope and features of the service may be developed or limited without separate notice.
  • The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or incidents.

Submitting listings

When you submit a place or an event, you also give the following assurances. A submission publishes nothing automatically: it enters our review queue.

  • You have the right to provide the information and materials you submit and the right for them to be published on Skidbee.
  • The information is, to the best of your knowledge, accurate, up to date and about a real place or event.
  • The information does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademarks, privacy or other rights.
  • You do not submit another person's personal data without a basis, nor images or identifying details of children.
  • We may edit, shorten, translate, categorise or decline to publish a submission.

Submissions are not published as-is. We may request further details at the email address given in the submission.

Rights to submitted content

Ownership of and rights to the content you submit remain with you or with the original rights holder. These terms transfer no ownership to Skidbee.

By submitting, you grant Skidbee a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, limited to what is reasonably necessary to review, edit, translate, publish and present the submitted content in Skidbee and in Skidbee's own communications about the service.

You can ask for a published submission to be removed or corrected at info@skidbee.fi.

Accuracy of information

Information in the service may change or become outdated. Information gathered from external and open sources is based on what the source has published, but it may be structured, categorised, summarised or translated for presentation in Skidbee.

Always verify the time, price, age recommendation and accessibility with the organiser or the venue before setting out.

Prohibited use

The service must not be used in a way that harms the service, its users or third parties. Businesses, museums, municipalities and other organisers are welcome to submit their own family-friendly places and events. The following, however, are prohibited:

  • sending spam
  • marketing unrelated to Skidbee's purpose, which is places and events for families with children
  • sending false or misleading promotional submissions
  • filling in forms automatically or repeatedly in order to cause disruption
  • large-scale automated collection of the service's data without permission
  • submitting offensive, unlawful or child-inappropriate content
  • circumventing the service's security or usage limits

Our rights

Skidbee's own name, logo, visual design, original texts and software code are protected. Content may be used for ordinary personal purposes, such as sharing individual pages as a link.

Third-party content, open data and source material remain subject to their own rights, licences and terms. Skidbee does not own such content; it presents it in line with the sources' terms.

Broader exploitation, or copying Skidbee's own content into another service, requires written permission.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided as is.

  • We do not guarantee that the service is available without interruption or free of errors.
  • We are not responsible for the content, safety, schedules or cancellation of events and venues run by third parties.
  • We are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of information in the service.

These limitations of liability do not restrict rights that arise from mandatory law.

Personal data

The processing of personal data is described separately in the privacy policy. Accepting these terms is not a consent to processing personal data; it is an agreement on the rules for using the service.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the service develops. The version in force and its effective date are always on this page.

Significant changes are announced in the service. Each submission stores which version of the terms you accepted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disagreements are resolved primarily by negotiation and, where necessary, before the competent Finnish court.
