Do you want to practise reading aloud in a relaxed company? Come and read to a reading dog! All readers over 7 years old who want to practise reading can book a time with the reading dog. There is no need to be nervous about reading in the company of a reading dog – the dog listens patiently, and does not criticise or comment on mistakes or reading pace. Mosaik's reading dog is Daisy the Rottweiler, who has completed the Finnish Kennel Club's reading dog training. In the reading situation, in addition to the dog, there is a handler present, who however does not interfere with the reading. You can read your own book to the reading dog or choose a book from the library. Instructions for the reading session: 1. You can book a slot for the reading dog at the Mosaik customer service desk or by phone (tel. 050 302 8367). Please inform the library if you need to cancel your booked slot! 2. Arrive on time with a pre-selected book. Each reader participates alone, and each consecutive slot lasts 15 minutes – please be precise with the time limit! 3. A reading dog is a reading companion, not a playmate. So let's focus on reading during the session. 4. Reading dogs like to be petted, but always ask the owner for permission first.
