Local Nature Evening: children and nature

About this event

How does the biodiversity of urban playgrounds and yards support children's health? Do children in Helsinki's daycares and schools have easy and safe access to nearby forests? Welcome to the Itäkeskus Library's Local Nature Evening, where we discuss the importance of local nature and biodiversity for children's health and learning. How are the yards of children's learning spaces built, developed, and maintained to enhance biodiversity and thus support children's health? Do the nearby forests of daycares and schools enable safe and accessible nature education? Come and listen and discuss the topic with representatives from the Urban Environment Division and organisations, educators, and city residents! The discussion will be facilitated by specialist librarian Liisa Uimonen. The discussion will take place in the library hall on the entrance floor of the library. *** If your association or other group wishes to participate in the event with an official representative, please email us (aino.toiviainen-koskinen@hel.fi).
