Orienteering School

About this event

Registration for Orienteering School takes place on the registration page in the MyClub membership service. When registering for Orienteering School, you must first create a MyClub ID for the child, unless one already exists from previous years, and moving forward, the child's MyClub ID must be used. The Orienteering School fee for the 2026 season is 168 EUR / child. In addition, you must be a member of Espoon Suunta (join as a member). The membership fee for those under 20 is 50 EUR. Invoices for both the Orienteering School and the membership fee will be sent to the guardian via MyClub. The Orienteering School fee includes a competition license and sports insurance, spring and autumn season training, winter hall shifts, trophy hunts, support for participating in competitions and Orienteering School trips. In addition, Orienteering School participants, as members of EsSu, can participate free of charge in EsSu's recreational orienteering events and other programmes offered to EsSu members. Up-to-date information regarding the Orienteering School is communicated via MyClub. Please ensure that both the child's and guardian's contact information is current! More information about the groups: Villihiiret (Wild Mice) (born 2020 – 2021) In Villihiiret, children are introduced to the world of orienteering at their own individual level. A parent or guardian must be with the child throughout the entire training session. The goal for the season is to learn to move in the forest while enjoying physical activity. Liito-oravat (Flying Squirrels) (born 2018 – 2019) With new orienteers, the basics are covered first, and then we delve deeper into the world of orienteering. For those who have been orienteering longer, we form groups where everyone finds suitable challenges. Some groups move through training by running, making the training more physical. For those more interested in outdoor activities and exploring nature, there are groups with a more moderate pace. Karttaketut (Map Foxes) (born 2016 – 2017) With new orienteers, the basics are covered first, and then we delve deeper into the world of orienteering. For those who have been orienteering longer, we form groups where everyone finds suitable challenges. Some groups move through training by running, making the training more physical. For those more interested in outdoor activities and exploring nature, there are groups with a more moderate pace. Rastisudet (Control Point Wolves) (born 2012 – 2015) Rastisudet is a group for 10-15-year-olds for whom orienteering is a new hobby. The group starts with the basics and gets into the hobby during the season. EsSu Rangers (born 2012 – 201) EsSu Rangers is a group for 11-15-year-old orienteering enthusiasts who already have experience. In this group, you can pursue the hobby according to your own motivation level. If the orienteering bug has bitten an 11-14-year-old orienteer more intensely, it is worth exploring the eGroupJr coaching group. In eGroupJr, you can deepen your hobby to the next level. A child attending Orienteering School for the first time starts in the new orienteers group. Group changes can be made flexibly if the instructor deems the change reasonable. In the Villihiiret group, the presence of a parent or guardian is required. Parents are also welcome as assistant instructors in other groups!
