About this event

Kulttuurikoto is a free and open family café for creative activities organised in Children's Cultural Centres for families with children who have moved to Finland. At the family café, you can meet other families with children, practise Finnish, and do various creative things together in a safe and pleasant environment with children. The autumn programme also includes cultural performances. Coffee, tea, and small snacks for children are available. The family cafés are professionally coordinated and led by a multilingual peer instructor. Children and parents of all ages are welcome to the family café, regardless of language proficiency. Every Monday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM First café of the autumn on Mon 17.8. Address: Tikkurila Vernissakatu 4, 01300 Vantaa Children's Cultural Centres are accessible spaces. Baby food can be warmed up in the space if needed. Please note that shoes are not worn in the family café space. Participation does not require Finnish language skills. The family cafés adhere to safer space principles, so that everyone has a pleasant and safe time participating and playing! Further information www.yhteisetlapsemme.fi Activity email kulttuurikoto@yhteisetlapsemme.fi Follow us on social media @yhteisetlapsemme Family café programme schedule in autumn 2026 Mondays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM between 17.8. - 14.12.2026 (no family café during school autumn holiday on 12.10.2026) In the family café programme: Learn Finnish through play and song, starting 7.9. at 10:30 AM - 11:15 AM every other Monday Learn Finnish through play and song is a low-threshold Finnish language teaching for immigrant parents of young children who are at home. In the activity, adults learn the basics of Finnish through music and play, and small children (0–3-year-olds) get to join in the musical play.
