Do you want to practice reading aloud in relaxed company? Come and read to a reading dog! All readers over 7 years old who wish to practice reading can book a time with a reading dog. There's no need to be nervous about reading with a reading dog – the dog listens patiently and does not judge or comment on mistakes or reading speed. Mosaik's reading dog is Daisy, a Rottweiler, who has completed the Kennel Club's reading dog training. In the reading situation, an instructor is present in addition to the dog, but they will not interfere with the reading. You can read your own book to the reading dog or choose a book from the library. Instructions for the reading session: 1. You can book a slot with the reading dog at Mosaiikki's customer service desk or by phone (tel. 050 302 8367). Please inform the library if you need to cancel your reserved slot! 2. Arrive on time with a pre-selected book. The reader participates in their slot alone, and each consecutive slot lasts 15 minutes – please be mindful of the time limit! 3. A reading dog is a reading buddy, not a playmate. So, during the slot, focus on reading. 4. Reading dogs enjoy being petted, but always ask the owner for permission first.
