About this event
Are you just learning to read or do you need more confidence in reading? Come and read to a reading dog. Book your own reading slot at the library's customer service desk or by phone at 043 825 1308. The reading slot is approximately 15 minutes. The reading dog is intended for all readers over 5 years old who need confidence in reading. The dog does not judge or comment on mistakes, slowness or hesitation. The dog's presence relaxes and encourages reading. Myyrmäki Library's reading dog is a Shetland Sheepdog named Noppa, who has completed the Finnish Kennel Club's reading dog training. The reading dog's handler is present during the reading session but does not interfere with the reading. You can read your own book to the reading dog or choose a book from those offered by the library. In autumn 2026, the reading dog will be present every other Tuesday from 8.9.-15.12. between 15:30-16:30. Keyword: Children's culture
