About this event
Are you just learning to read or do you need confidence in reading? Come and read to a reading dog. Book your reading time at the library's customer service or by phone at 043 825 1308. The reading time is approximately 15 minutes. The reading dog is intended for all readers over 5 years old who need confidence in reading. The dog does not judge or comment on mistakes, slowness, or hesitation. The dog's presence relaxes and encourages reading. Myyrmäki library's reading dog is a Shetland Sheepdog named Noppa, who has completed the Finnish Kennel Club's reading dog training. The reading dog's handler is present during the reading situation but does not interfere with the reading. You can read your own book to the reading dog or choose a book from those offered by the library. In autumn 2026, the reading dog will be present every other Tuesday from 8.9.-15.12. between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Keywords: Children's culture Emoji (2nd floor)
