Playground Piika will be under renovation from February 2026 to June 2027. During this time, the yard area is partially open for use. The playground will reopen in August 2027. During the renovation, after-school activities for schoolchildren will be held a Malminkartano Primary School. Activities for babies and children will be provided on Thursdays and Fridays in the Malminkartano youth centre at Piianpolku 3-5. No activities will be provided during school holidays. The nearest playgrounds in the area are Trumpetti, Kannelmäki, Vähätupa, Strömberg, and Nuoli (Renovated Playground Nuoli opens in August 2026). Playground Piika is located in idyllic old buildings south-side of the Malminkartano district. The playground is a place where families with babies and children can play, exercise and meet each other around the year either indoors or outdoors. In addition to sandboxes, swings and various climbing frames, playground features: - Separate fenced yard for small children - Paddling pool (in summer) - Basketball hoop - Ping pong table - Floorball goals and equipment Families with babies and children can meet other families at playgrounds, while children can find new friends to play with. Diverse and free-of-charge guided activities are organised at playgrounds in the mornings. You can heat your own food and make coffee and tea at the playground. Our activities are free of charge and based on Helsinki's curriculum for early childhood education and care.
