Mansikkaniemen ulkoilualue

In Mansikkaniemi's beautiful outdoor area, located by the water, there is approximately a kilometre-long Koljonvirta historical trail. Along the trail, there are information boards that tell about the events of the Battle of Koljonvirta during the Finnish War. The beginning of the trail passes by the old 19th-century buildings of the Juhani Aho Museum. The route continues into an old pine forest. At the very end of Mansikkaniemi, there is a fire pit, offering beautiful views of the fields across the river. In addition to the forest section, the route also partly runs alongside old meadows. Along the route, you can also see, for example, remnants of wartime dugouts. The route is easy to navigate. The Mansikkaniemi area is located right along Main Road 27. The Koljonvirta information centre can be found here, with the Mäntylä summer cafe attached. The Juhani Aho Museum and the adjacent Koljonvirta Summer Theatre are also open in summer. A WC is available near the theatre. There is also a swimming spot in the area.
