Hiunjärven laavu

The Hiunjärvi lean-to is located on the northern side of the city centre on the shore of Lake Hiunjärvi. Hiunjärvi is a provincially significant bird lake, and the area features a bird-watching tower and a marked nature trail. The longest loop of the nature trail, starting from the underpass next to Saarnisto school, is approximately 3.8 kilometres, and from the end of Juolukkatie, it is approximately 3.6 kilometres. A visit to just the bird-watching tower and lean-to, using the most direct route, is about 2 kilometres round trip from the underpass and about 1.6 kilometres from the end of Juolukkatie. Accessibility The lean-to is located in a natural environment and is not accessible. Access to the lean-to is via a forest path, and the terrain is uneven in places. Use of the lean-to requires good mobility. There are no separate accessible auxiliary structures in the area.
