Lähteelä outdoor recreation area includes mainland and a large archipelago. The terrain is varied with rocky shores with reeds, hills, and fields. Lähteelä has good basic services but is suitable for "wilderness-like" hiking, camping, and birdwatching. The area can be explored year-round. In front of Lähteelä are the islands of Stora Svartö and Lilla Svartö, among others; Stora Svartö is about a kilometre from the mainland. The tops of the island's twin cliffs rise about twenty metres above sea level. Lähteelä outdoor recreation area was established in 1970. The area covers 134 ha, and the water area 992 ha.
