Taivaanpankko

Taivaanpankko, located north of Puijonlaakso, is a forested area with significant elevation differences and steep hills, well-suited for outdoor recreation and hiking. A wide recreational trail runs along the edges of the area. In the middle of the area there is a rocky ridge, along which runs a more challenging forest path. From the top of the ridge, beautiful views open up, for example, to Puijo Tower and the ski jumps. In addition, numerous small forest paths crisscross the forests of the area. The part of the ridge facing Puijo consists mainly of old, tall spruce forest, while the western side of the ridge, which receives the evening sun, is predominantly pine forest. In the area, there is a traditional hut belonging to Puijonlaakso kindergarten, which is not for public use. There are no services in the area. The area can be accessed on foot and by bicycle from the surrounding residential areas. Several bus lines run around the area, and many stops are close to the area.
