About this place

Part of the Kuhankuono hiking trail network. The Two Lakes Loop skirts both Pyhäjärvi and Elijärvi, hence its name. The trail winds through commercial forest and forest roads, but the route also includes a small area, Pitkäkallio, part of the old-growth forest conservation programme. Along the route are also the Kattilakallio giant's kettles. In summer, hikers can swim at Valasranta beach. The Two Lakes Loop is approximately ten kilometres long. The terrain is easy to navigate, and in dry weather, trainers are sufficient footwear, but in wetter seasons, boots are the safest choice. Sausages can be grilled at the Karjalevo campfire site, and on summer weekends, one can even dance at Valasranta. The starting point is at Valasrannantie 354; the nearest public transport stop is Valasranta th P, from which it's about a 3.8-kilometre walk to the starting point of the route. The route runs within the Pöytyä area.
