About this place

Basic information about the stairs The wooden stairs are 2 metres wide and divided into two sections. The first section is 38 metres long with an ascent angle of approximately 30%. The elevation difference is 12 metres and there are 81 steps. Between the stair sections, there is a 30-metre-long, almost flat crushed stone section, from which there is access to the fitness trail. Recently updated outdoor exercise equipment is also nearby. The second section has an ascent of 21% and is approximately 45 metres long towards the top of the rock. The elevation difference from the crushed stone path is about 10 metres, and there are 69 steps in the latter section. In total, including the lower landing, there are 170 steps. Smart lighting control The lighting of the stairs is controlled by both a twilight sensor and motion detection. The lights turn on when it gets dark and turn off when there is enough light again. In addition, the light intensity is controlled by motion detection – if there is no movement on the stairs, the light output dims to a low level. When the motion detector detects a passer-by, the light output increases, and the stairs remain illuminated for a defined period. During the winter season, the stairs are out of use and the lighting is not on. The stairs have an electronic visitor counter.
