Laajalahden luontopolku

The starting point of the nature trail (3.5 km) is near the parking area. The nature trail winds through a coastal grove and along duckboards through the reed beds. Along the nature trail, there is information about the area's nature, a bird tower and bird hide, a viewing platform, and a campfire site. The nature trails are marked with pinecone symbols. Laajalahti is located on the shore of Lake Öjanjärvi. The bird wetland area, part of the Natura 2000 network, covers 266 hectares. Laajalahti, with its swimming beaches and fitness trails, is one of Kokkola's most popular recreational areas. The area is in year-round use. A ski trail extends to Koivuhaka. The area can be accessed under everyman's right, observing the restrictions of the swimming beach. The bird nesting season from 15.4. to 31.7. must be considered when hiking.
