Aulangon ulkoilualue

Aulanko outdoor recreation area in Hämeenlinna is a beautiful and valuable natural area and park forest located on the eastern edge of the city, with a 160-hectare nature reserve at its core. The area has swimming beaches, a campfire site, marked theme and outdoor recreation trails, outdoor fitness equipment, an outdoor recreation lodge, a café, and an observation tower. To the east of Lake Aulangonjärvi, within the national urban park area, a nature reserve of approximately 97 hectares, Sibeliuksen Metsä (Sibelius Forest), was established in 2018. It is part of the Natura 2000 network and complements Aulanko's extensive protection complex. The area is accessible both summer and winter. The outdoor recreation area is owned by Hämeenlinna, and the nature reserve by Metsähallitus.
