Due to its location and versatility, this place is a popular local hiking destination. The site features an old hut, a new hut (Tervakota, which is locked and only for members of Tervajalat), a lean-to shelter, a campfire site, a wood shed, an outhouse, and a small pier leading to the pond. It is possible to reach the hut by walking or mountain biking along the Kuuden Tähden hiking trail. The trail, which was previously in disrepair, is now clearly visible due to increased mountain biking. During good snow winters, a traditional cross-country skiing trail also runs through Okslampi and past the hut, connecting to Kontiaiset.
