Huuhkajan kierros luontopolku

Located between Varpaisjärvi and Rautavaara, in the ridge area bordering the Tiilikkajoki river, this beautiful circular route is easily accessible. The Eagle Owl (Huuhkaja) trail is part of the Älänne routes, so from the same starting point, you can also easily head to the magnificent Näätähiekka or even further to Haatainniemi. The Eagle Owl trail has some ascents and descents, but the route is well suited for walking with children. Winding mainly through dry pine forests, amidst beautiful ridge landscapes, the path rewards with its scenic views. Along the way, you'll find a few ponds, marshes, and the shimmering Tiilikkajoki river. The route's two rest stops are located at Vongankoski parking area and approximately halfway along the route, at Huuhkajaniemi. Both rest stops have a lean-to, a campfire site, and a toilet.
