Vatasen laavu

Vatanen is located along the 2.7 m channel, approximately 3 km north of Puutossalmi. The island is part of Kuopio National Urban Park. The channel to the west is about 200 metres away. On the western shore of the island, there is a new lean-to with fire pits, a firewood shed, and an outdoor toilet. Firewood supply service is available at the site. The site has a jetty with stern buoys (3 pcs). The shore is reasonably deep, allowing access for large boats, but it is quite exposed, especially to south-westerly and northerly winds. In Vatanen, further north on the western side, there is also an old fishing hut with fire pits, and in the sound between Vatanen and a small rocky island to its north, there is a stern buoy mooring where shelter can be sought if winds pick up. The small island has no structures. The island is located along the 2.7 m shipping lane.
