Kuusiluoto

The island is a public recreational area, accessed by a boardwalk route just over a kilometre long, passing through the extensive reeds of the nature reserve and Lammassaari island. The boardwalk route starts from Pornaistenniemi, next to the southern end of Jokisuuntie road, and goes via Lammassaari. The boardwalks are suitable for prams up to Lammassaari. The boardwalks to Kuusiluoto are narrow and you may need wellington boots if the sea level is high, i.e., 30-50 cm above mean sea level. If the level is over 50 cm, accessing the island may be difficult or impossible. The nature enthusiasts' association Vanhankaupungin kulttuuri-ekologinen klubi ry has leased the old wooden villa on Kuusiluoto.
