About this place

From Temmesjoki harbour starts a renovated, gravel-surfaced nature trail with bridges. It passes through the cottage village and continues towards the birdwatching tower, which offers stunning views of Liminganlahti and the mouth of the Temmesjoki river. The site has accessible access to the harbour area and campfire site, and it is possible to get close by car. The area is also easily accessible by bicycle. The total length of the route from the harbour to the tower is approximately two kilometres. From Temmesjoki harbour to the cottage village, the route is flatter and accessible. At the cottage village, the route follows a road. From the cottage village to the beginning of the duckboards, the route is a demanding accessible route and includes a hill where the longitudinal slope exceeds 8 percent. The route surface may also have soft sections depending on seasonal conditions. Near the tower, the path changes to renovated duckboards, which may be slippery in rainy weather. Small renovation measures have been carried out at the birdwatching tower. You can start a refreshing and calming day in nature, for example, by enjoying a campfire and snacks at the harbour's campfire site or under the shelter of the lean-to, before heading to the trail. On the wide gravel-surfaced path, it is easy to pass oncoming people, and route maintenance work is also considerably easier than before. While enjoying the renovated route and beautiful nature, please remember to be considerate of others and your surroundings by adhering to the principles and etiquette of litter-free and responsible hiking. Firewood is available at the campfire site during the winter season. Be prepared with your own firewood at other times.
