North of Iisalmi, after road no. 27 (to Kiuruvesi and Kalajoki) branches off from road no. 88 to Oulu and Vieremä, turn left (south) onto a forest road (signpost bird tower 0.9 km) after approximately 1.7 km. The car can be left by the roadside and continue along the path to the bird tower. The tower is on the western shore of Lake Keskimmäinen and offers views of almost the entire lake, as well as part of Tismiö to the north.
