About this place

The newest addition to the Kuhankuono hiking trail network is the Rehtsuo route. The starting point of the route is in Silvola, at the Föli bus turning point. And this brings us to the central idea of the Rehtsuo route: it is accessible by bus, even from the centre of Turku. From the bus turning point, the route continues along Nousiaistentie for just under two kilometres until it turns left towards Rehtsuo. Rehtsuo is an exceptionally beautiful, private marsh conservation area, through which a path, partly covered by duckboards, runs. At the edge of the marsh is the route's resting place, Perävuori lean-to. In connection with the lean-to, there is a woodshed and a toilet. From the lean-to, the route continues skirting fields to Jyrkkävuoren metsätie, from where it then turns onto a path towards Vahdontie. At the end of the path there is a bus stop from which you can return to the city. The same can also be done in reverse; nearby there is a stop where you can alight when coming from Turku, and hike to Silvola. The route is flat in profile, but there are wet sections where hiking boots or rubber boots are good to have in wet weather. The route is over 9 kilometres long, and with breaks, it easily takes at least three hours to complete. The route runs in the Rusko and Nousiainen areas.
