Diverse forest, rugged cliffs, a swimming spot, 4 Lappish hut-style lean-tos, and a well-marked trail network. Mallinkaistenjärvi is a good day trip destination, and overnight stays are permitted under everyman's rights. On the western shore of the lake is a smaller recreational area with Janakkala municipality's camp centre, a swimming beach, a campfire ring, a cooking shelter, and a sauna.
